Tag order
Each blog has one ordering mode, set from that blog's page. The order it produces is what every reader sees; there's no per-visitor variation.
The four modes

Ties in any mode fall back to alphabetical, so the order stays stable between runs rather than shuffling when two tags are exactly even.
Manual order
Drag tags into position using the handle beside each one. If a mouse drag isn't practical, every row also has a menu with Move to top, Move up, Move down and Move to bottom, giving full keyboard access to the same reordering. Hidden tags keep their place in this arrangement even while hidden, so turning one back on restores it to where you left it rather than dropping it at the end.
Newly discovered tags are added after your arranged ones, not inserted in the middle, so adding a new tag to an article never reshuffles the tags you've already placed.
Most articles
Uses the count from the nightly crawl, not a live count. A tag's position here can lag by up to a day behind a burst of new articles.
Most clicked
Ranks tags by how many times readers have clicked them, over a window you choose: the last 30, 60 or 90 days, or all time. This mode needs Pro to select, but every plan collects click data from day one (see What we collect), so upgrading to Pro surfaces history that was already being recorded rather than starting from zero.
