Wording and translations
The filter bar has ten pieces of fixed text, such as the "All" pill, "Clear filters," and the search box's placeholder, all separate from the tags themselves.
The default: matches your storefront automatically
Out of the box, every one of the ten strings is translated to match whichever language a shopper is viewing your storefront in, using the same translation system your theme itself uses. If your store supports French and English, French-language visitors see French wording with nothing to configure. This works on every plan, including free.
Overriding the wording
Any paid plan can rewrite any of the ten strings by hand, from the Design page's Wording section:
| Field | Default (English) |
|---|---|
| The "All" pill | All |
| Clear filters link | Clear filters |
| "N selected" text | selected |
| Filter bar label (screen readers) | Filter articles by tag |
| When a tag selection finds nothing | No articles carry all of the selected tags. |
| Search box label (screen readers) | Search this blog |
| Search box placeholder | Search articles |
| Search button | Search |
| Clear search button | Clear search |
| No search results message | No articles matched that search. |
Leave a field empty and it falls back to the automatic, language-matched default above. Overriding is entirely optional, field by field.
Note
An override applies as written, in every language; there's no per-language override table. If your storefront serves multiple languages and you want custom wording, it will show in that same wording regardless of which language a visitor is browsing in.
Renaming individual tags
This is separate from renaming a specific tag's display text, which is available on every plan. See Showing, hiding and renaming tags.
