Turning off a blog's filter

Each blog has its own Show the filter on this blog switch, on that blog's page under Visibility and order. Turning it off is separate from hiding individual tags. It removes the bar from that blog's storefront page entirely, regardless of how many tags are set to visible.

Why you might turn one off

A common case is a blog that doesn't have enough distinct tags to make filtering useful, such as an announcements blog with two or three posts. Rather than leaving a sparse, not-very-useful bar in place, disabling it removes the block's output entirely while keeping the blog's tag settings intact underneath.

Nothing is lost

Turning a blog off doesn't clear its tag visibility, ordering, or renames. Flip it back on and everything reappears exactly as configured. This is different from removing the block from the theme editor, which is a theme-level change; the switch here is the faster way to toggle a blog off and back on without touching the theme at all.
