Search analytics
proUpdated
If blog search is turned on for a blog, the Analytics page shows what readers have actually typed into it. The report is available on Pro, using data recorded from the moment search was turned on regardless of plan.
What's shown
- The searches that found nothing: the terms most often typed that matched no articles, which is often the most useful list here: it's a direct signal for content that's missing or hard to find under its current wording.
- The top search terms overall: the twenty most-searched terms, alongside how many of each came back empty.
Why "zero results" gets its own view
A popular search term that consistently finds nothing is a more actionable signal than a popular one that works fine. It points at a gap, whether that's an article that needs writing, or an existing one whose title and tags don't match how readers are actually searching for it.
Nothing here identifies who searched
Search terms are recorded as plain counts per term per day (see What we collect), with nothing attached that could connect a term back to a specific visitor.
