The setup wizard

The wizard runs automatically the first time you open the app, and walks through everything needed to get a filter live on one blog. Every step can be skipped. Skipping jumps straight to the finished admin, with sensible defaults left in place for anything you didn't set.

The five steps

1. Language

Choose the language the admin itself is shown in. This is separate from what your storefront visitors see; for that, see Wording and translations for that.

2. Import

The app reads your blogs and articles and discovers every tag in use, along with how many articles carry each one. There's nothing to configure here beyond waiting for it to finish; it runs automatically.

3. Style

Pick one of eight visual presets as a starting point: Pill, Underline, Outline, Solid, Soft, Tabs, Minimal or Uppercase. You can change every colour, corner and spacing value later from the Design page; the wizard just picks where you start.

4. Theme

Add the filter block to your blog template from the theme editor, using a deep link the app builds for you. Two buttons are offered:

• Add as its own section works on every theme, and is the one to use unless you know your theme supports the second option.
• Add inside the blog section is supported only by themes built to accept app blocks inline, such as those on Shopify's Horizon foundation. Using it on a theme that doesn't will show Shopify's own "There is a problem with the app block" message.
