Most Shopify stores tag their blog posts. The recipe is tagged “vegan”, the guide is tagged “beginner”. Then the theme shows every article in one long list, and none of those tags does anything for a reader.

I'm a senior developer working with Shopify, Shopify apps, BigCommerce and Next.js. For the last couple of months I've been building Filter My Blog on my own.

It's a Shopify app that puts a tag filter bar above a store's blog. A reader clicks a tag and sees only those articles. On the paid plans they can combine tags and search just that blog, and on themes that support it, the results appear in the theme's own article cards without a page reload. The merchant sets the colours, order and wording from the Shopify admin. There's no theme code to write.

It's for merchants whose blog has grown past a page or two, with recipes, guides or journals, and for the agencies and freelancers who look after those stores. If you run a Shopify blog, or build stores for people who do, get in touch.
